Shopping for vintage engagement rings?

If you are in the market for vintage engagement rings then it helps to understand the different time periods and styles associated with them.

You can look all the way back to the 1920′s to start seeing the first of the line, which are primarily going to be art deco style. They go all the way through the 1960′ and you can see the styles change gradually.

When you decide you want one, you should know that as the ages changed, the rings changed from bigger and more complex, to simple (through the 1930′s and the Great Depression) to the 1940′s and 50′s where they started to get back to the more elaborate styles finally settling in the 1960′s where a good balance was found.

You can get good deals on vintage rings if you know what you are doing. Many times if you try to buy a ring from a dealer who is only in it for strict profit you might find the prices are way too high, as opposed to finding a good deal on ebay or another auction type site where the seller might just be trying to make a quick buck and anything they get is pure profit.

When you finally do get your ring you need to remember that it is antique and is still around because someone somewhere took very good care of it.

You should always be armed with knowledge when you go out and are prepared to spend money on something like that.

Just remember that you should take your time before you actually buy the ring, and something you can do in real life but not online is a take a look at it and make sure everything is working properly.

Vintage engagement rings are beautiful and can be a truly treasured gift to your loved one.
